The Fairgate Farm Farmers Market is open May 31, 2018, through October on Thursdays from 12 noon to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 12 noon.
Thanks to a US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farmers Market Program (FMPP) grant, Fairgate Farm can provide the community with fresh, organic produce from five farms rooted in over 500 years of organic harvest. Participating farms include:
Gilberties’ Herb Farm has the largest certified, organic greenhouse system in New England. They grow unique blends of micro greens, lettuces, arugula, spinach, Swiss chard, field vegetables and herbs.
The Hickories has been growing organic fruits and vegetables, from seedlings to harvested crops for over 250 years. They offer humanely-raised, free range, pastured meat options.
Ryder Farm has been in the family since 1795. Besides growing organic vegetables, herbs, fruits, flowers and plants, the farm serves as a retreat center for artists.
Sport Hill Farm, established in 2000, grows non-GMO, sustainable produce and has fresh-baked goods, free-range eggs, fruits, honey and grass-fed dairy and meat products.
Fairgate Farm is an urban, volunteer-powered farm where the community gathers to harvest organic fruits, herbs and vegetables that are shared with the volunteers, the community and hunger relief organizations.
